North Bay police search for suspect after victim stabbed multiple times
A stabbing victim in North Bay had to be airlifted to Sudbury for treatment following an attack on Lakeshore Drive on Thursday evening.
“A male was located on Lakeshore Drive suffering from multiple stab wounds,” police said in a news release Friday.
“He was being assisted by individuals (who) had gathered to help. EMS transported the male to a local hospital, where he was stabilized and eventually airlifted to a Sudbury hospital, where he remains in stable condition.”
The North Bay Police Service criminal investigations unit is investigating the incident. Police said they don’t believe the public is at risk.
“Investigators can advise the public that the two individuals involved in this incident are known to each other, and there is no risk to the general public,” the release said.
“At this time, no arrests have been made in regard to the incident.”
Police are hoping eyewitnesses will come forward and help with the investigation – in particular, anyone who may have dash cam footage from the 1200 block area of Lakeshore Drive between 6 and 7 p.m. on the day of the attack.
