North Bay police release details of King Street clash

Police in North Bay arrived at a “chaotic scene” Feb. 20 on King Street.

In a news release Thursday, police said they arrived at 7:49 a.m. after reports of a disturbance between two groups of people.

“Upon arrival to the chaotic scene, police located some individuals and a heavily damaged vehicle,” the release said.

“As a result of the investigation, several arrests were made and charges were laid.”

It emerged that three people arrived at the residence at 7:30 a.m. and a confrontation ensued between the three and people inside the residence.

“They were known to each other,” the release said.

“Police were called and officers from the North Bay Police Service attended and located several individuals and a heavily damaged vehicle. Residential home security video of the area was obtained by police, and an investigation began. As a result, three people were arrested and charged.”

Charges include assault with a weapon, mischief and administering a noxious thing. Police have not said what substance makes up the “noxious thing.”

“Police remained on the scene the rest of the day, as a search warrant was obtained,” the release said.

“The house was searched and some items were recovered. The North Bay Police Service utilized the drone to assist in this investigation, and would also like to thank the OPP canine unit that also responded to assist.”

All three accused were released on undertakings with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
