North Bay police observe alleged drug deal, seize $31K in drugs, one man arrested
A 46-year-old North Bay man is facing various drug charges after officers observed a “drug transaction” Tuesday and seized more than $31,000 in drugs, police say.
At about 5:30 p.m. on March 26, members of the North Bay Police Service (NBPS) Street Crime Unit made the arrest as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
“(Officers) observed a drug transaction in a Fisher Street parking lot,” said police in a news release.
“As the accused was getting back into his vehicle, he was arrested by police.”
Police attempted to stop a second vehicle involved however it sped away heading southbound on Highway 11.
“The lone occupant of the fleeing vehicle was identified, however police did not pursue, due to the risk to public safety,” said NBPS officials.
The 46-year-old man arrested at the scene was transported to the police station and searched – the 2014 silver Kia Sorento he was operating was seized by police.
As a result of the searches, police seized approximately 30.7 grams of suspected fentanyl, approximately 120.4 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 89.8 grams of suspected crystal meth, 683 methamphetamine pills, 34 hydromorphone pills, 28 Percocet pills and 16 morphine pills.
Police said the estimated street value of the drugs seized is $31,315.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
