North Bay police looking for suspects who crashed stolen U-Haul

Police are searching for the suspects who crashed a stolen U-Haul truck east of North Bay on the weekend.

Officers were called to the single vehicle collision on Highway 17 East in Bonfield shortly after 2 a.m. July 21, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

"The U-Haul sustained significant damages and the occupants fled from the scene," OPP said.

"The investigation is ongoing and if anyone has information or recognize the people in the photos, please contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit information online at www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000."

Police said the U-Haul was stolen, but didn't say when or where it happened.

Monday morning, police released photos of the truck with a smashed up front end along with two photos of two suspects wearing hooded shirts and walking a black dog.

In the photos provided, one suspect appears to be wearing a hooded blue sweatshirt with black pants, shoes and backpack.

The second suspect appears to be wearing a patterned hooded long-sleeve shirt or sweatshirt with a black top with an image on the front over top with black pants and shoes.

The dog was on a leash.
