North Bay OPP marine patrol charge boater with impaired
A marine patrol earlier this month on Lake Nipissing charged a boat operator with impaired driving.

The incident took place Aug. 2 around 1:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police said in a social media post.
“During their patrol a vessel was stopped, which had an operator and two passengers onboard,” police said.
“As a result of the investigation the operator was arrested and charged.”
The 57-year-old was charged with two counts of impaired driving and operating a boat with an open container of liquor.
The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and is scheduled to appear at the North Bay Ontario Court of Justice.
“One passenger, a 50-year-old, from Orillia, was further charged with consuming liquor in an unauthorized place,” police said.
“The OPP reminds motorists to report impaired drivers.”
