SUDBURY -- People in North Bay are mourning the loss of the city's longest-serving city councillor, Mike Anthony, who passed away at age 52.

According to published reports, Anthony passed away Wednesday at home.

Condolences are flooding in on his Facebook page.

He was in his sixth term on council and had just turned 52 last week.

There is no word on the cause of death at this time. 

A flag lowering ceremony at city hall was held Thursday at 10:45 a.m. with Mayor Al McDonald and members of city council.
