A North Bay man is celebrating a big win in the lottery games.

Congratulations to Devin Rickard for winning $250,000 on the Daily Grand game earlier this month. He matched all five main numbers in exact order to win the prize.

Usually the prize for matching all five numbers is $25,000 a year for life, or the winner can opt to take a lump sum payment of $500,000, but there were two winners on the March 7 evening draw, so Rickard claimed half of the lump sum prize.

“This is my first major win and it was my first time playing DAILY GRAND!” said Rickard when he picked up his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

The 26-year-old student and military man is the father of one, and plans to save and invest most of his winnings. He says he'll also buy a new vehicle for his fiancée.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Fisher Street in North Bay.
