NORTH BAY -- Four North Bay high schools are being praised for stepping up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A nurse from the North Bay Regional Health Centre recently reached out to the schools: West Ferris, Chippewa, St. Joseph Scollard Hall and Widdifield to see what kind of supplies they had on hand while students are out of the classroom.

All four joined together and donated over 200 safety glasses and goggles from their science labs to the hospital, with 180 coming from Scollard.

"It gives us a lot of pride," said Widdifield Principal Alison Hearst. "We have students whose parents work at the hospital. We tried very hard to show an example."

Hearst says the schools thought it was the right thing to do to thank those on the frontlines fighting the virus.
