Ontario's Ministry of Labour is investigating after the owner of a North Bay auto shop was killed in a workplace incident earlier this month.

The ministry was notified earlier this month of a worker's death at Kelly's Auto Glass on Cassells Street in North Bay, spokesperson Ciara Nardelli told CTV News in an email.

North Bay police confirmed it happened on March 4.

"It was reported a worker suffered fatal injuries when they were pinned under a vehicle," Nardelli said.

"Two orders have been issued to the employer."

Condolences from the community poured in on two social media posts made by the company about it.

Correction

The date of the incident provided to CTV News by the Ministry of Labour spokesperson was incorrect. The previously reported date of March 3 has been corrected to March 4 as confirmed by North Bay police. The photo caption mistakenly said "following a fire,"  but there was no fire at the Cassells Street business. This has also been corrected.
