Residents of a home on McNabb Street in the Sault received a scary wake-up call this week when a vehicle crashed into their residence.

A 23-year-old suspect has been charged in connection with the collision, which took place at 3 a.m. Thursday.

“Officers were dispatched to the residence, where they located the vehicle, which they observed had caused significant damage to the house,” Sault police said in a news release Friday.

“Another vehicle had also been damaged nearby. No physical injuries were sustained by the victim inside the home. The accused was located inside the vehicle.”

The driver showed signs of impairment by drugs, police said, and refused to provide a blood sample.

They were arrested and charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving and failing to comply with a demand.

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on July 8.
