We're just about midway through December and that means we're halfway through the Salvation Army's annual kettle campaign.

In North Bay, donations are coming in at several locations.

Organizers say they are a little behind compared to previous years, but they've raised around $80,000 so far.

New this year, is the option for people to give money using their credit or debit card if they don't have cash on them.

“People are pleasantly surprised that we have them…a common theme with most of our kettle workers is people say we don't have any cash, I wish you had debit.  And we continued to hear that year after year." said John Dobbs, of Salvation Army of North Bay.

The goal this year in North Bay is to raise $150,000.

All of the money will be going to families in need.
