Nipissing University celebrates high exam scores by recent nursing grads
Nipissing University is lauding its staff and students after recent nursing graduates earned high marks in 2023 exams.
In a news release, the university said the latest report from the College of Nurses of Ontario revealed that Nipissing's graduates had a pass rate of 94.2 per cent in 2023.
“The report, which provides comprehensive data on the performance of nursing graduates across the province, highlights Nipissing University as a standout institution,” the release said.
“Graduates from Nipissing consistently perform above the provincial average on the registration exams, reflecting the rigorous training and comprehensive support they receive throughout their studies.”
“These results are a testament to the hard work and commitment of our students, faculty, and staff,” Nipissing president Dr. Kevin Wamsley said in the release.
“We are dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment that equips our students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their nursing careers.”
The report said Nipissing students also had a high pass rate in the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses exam.

“This exam, essential for obtaining a nursing license, is a critical benchmark for nursing competency,” Nipissing said.
“Nipissing's pass rate not only surpasses the provincial average but also demonstrates the university's effective preparation strategies and the dedication of its faculty and staff.”
“These scores highlight the dedication of our students and the exceptional training provided by our faculty and staff,” Dr. Karey McCullough, interim associate dean of the School of Nursing, said in the release.
“Prioritizing student-centered learning ensures that graduates are not only competent but compassionate and patient-focused caregivers.”
Nipissing University’s strong performance in the CNO report also highlights the institution’s role in addressing the growing demand for skilled nurses in Ontario, the release said.
“With the health-care system facing increasing pressures, the university’s ability to produce highly qualified nursing professionals is more important than ever.”
