New app for Sudbury Transit clients with disabilities

Share

GOVA Plus is a specialized transit service in Sudbury for people with disabilities who can't use regular transit.

Greater Sudbury has just launched a new app for GOVA Plus that offers a more flexible and accessible way to book rides.

It allows clients to book rides using a computer or smart device, pay their fare, track their rides and receive live updates on the location of their bus.

"The new app actually offers improved technology to our riders," said Laura Kenyon, acting director of Transit Services for the City of Greater Sudbury.

"So through public engagement, through our transit action plan, we heard from our customers (of) the need and the demand for more improved technology. So this is an additional tool to support their needs."

City officials say the app launched Monday and can be downloaded through the App Store or Google Play.
