MR 35 in Sudbury reopens after multi-vehicle crash

Municipal Road 35 in the Greater Sudbury community of Azilda has repoened following a multi-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.

The collision occurred near the intersection of MR 35 and Notre Dame Avenue close to the Tim Hortons location, the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) said in a social media post shortly before 4 p.m.

The roadway reopened shortly before 6:30 p.m., said police in a subsequent social media post.

Members of the GSPS, the Greater Sudbury Fire Service and EMS attended.

Greater Sudbury deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTV News in a phone interview that one vehicle had rolled into two others.

One person was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Oshell described the victim's injuiries as "minor."

Police have not released any details on the cause of the crash or if any charges or pending.

Fire officials said that crash resulted in a "small diesel spill" which had to be cleaned up.

According to police, Azilda traffic was being rerouted at Marier Street while police conducted their investigation.
