NORTH BAY -- Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is launching a website for businesses and individuals that will outline resources and supports available from both the provincial and federal governments as Ontario battles COVID-19.

In a statement issued to Thursday morning, Fedeli who serves as Ontario's economic development minister says the website and the resources that are available are designed to help provide people and employers with accessible solutions to challenges brought on by COVID-19.

"Our government knows the impacts of COVID-19 are being felt by all families and businesses of Nipissing,” said Fedeli in the release. "Navigating assistance available should not be difficult. This website has been designed to help people and businesses navigate available assistance easily and efficiently."

Fedeli says the province has taken a proactive approach to working with the federal government to launch complimentary programs and collectively kick-start the largest economic support package in Canadian history.

Fedeli says Ontario’s COVID-19 action plan includes $7 billion in additional resources for the health care system and direct support for people and jobs, while also making $10 billion in support available for people and businesses through tax and other deferrals, to improve cash flow, protect jobs and household budgets.

Fedeli says the response ensures the health care system, communities and the economy are positioned to weather the challenges ahead.
