There was a cheque presentation at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury Wednesday night.

Ladies of the Sudbury Royal Purple Lodge #148 made a $10,000 donation towards the expansion at the Sudbury hospice.

The group typically lends financial support to children’s charities, and says that the cause fit well with their children’s charity programs.

Darlene Sargent is a Sudbury Royal Purple Lodge member.

“We were really excited to hear that the hospice was expanding. As everyone knows, it’s a great place, it just isn’t big enough. It also is going to have places for children, so that is one of our main programs, one of the main things that we do with the children’s charity. We just wanted to be involved and help out as best we can.” said Sargent.

Earlier in the week a donation was also made by the Knights of Columbus council 6258.

The group donated $2,500 to the cause.

Hospice official hope the new addition will be up and running by spring of 2019.
