SUDBURY -- Marcel Echum of Moose Factory anted up won the Poker Lotto All In jackpot worth $50,588.20 on Aug. 12. Echum also won $5,000 on the instant portion of his ticket, bringing his total to $55,588.20.

"I play because I enjoy winning the small prizes," Echum said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

Echum, 59, checked his ticket while at the store.

"I saw the look on the clerk's face, looked at the lottery terminal and saw that I won," he said. "I went numb. I was shaking. I was completely surprised with the amount I won."

Echum told his son about his win a few days later.

"He was amazed and couldn't believe it either," he said. "We are going to have a good Christmas."

The winning ticket was purchased at GG's Corner Store & Gift Shop on Veteran Street in Moose Factory.

In accordance with government-issued lockdown measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, OLG is currently limiting the number of in-person prize claim appointments at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to only those that require a face-to-face interview.

Customers with prizes more than $50,000 are asked to call 1-800-387-0098 to discuss available prize claim options. Prize claims up to $49,999.90 should continue to be submitted by mail.
