Two people in Elliot Lake are facing charges following the death of a child.
The Ontario Provincial Police says the incident took place back on December 14, 2016 at a residence in Elliot Lake.
On Thursday, the OPP announced charges have been laid against two people.
A 34-year-old female has been charged with causing death by criminal negligence and failure to provide the necessities of life.
A 38-year-old male has been charged with failure to provide the necessities of life.
The two accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday.
No names have been released and there are no further details, at this time.
