Hundreds of people gathered in Sudbury on Sunday for the 10th annual RBC Hike for Hospice.

Stephanie Mathieu shared why she participated in the Hike for Hospice. "We want to make sure the hospice is around for anyone who might need it…I was my mom's primary caregiver and I was headed towards caregiver burnout like many are and when the bed was offered it was scary at first but when she was there we realized it was the right decision and I want that place there for anyone who might need it"

This year the Sudbury Hospice foundation is raising money for the Maison McCulloch Hospice in support of palliative care. "We want to raise hopefully 165-thousand dollars which helps with the operations we have to raise a million dollars each year and the exciting thing this year is we want to build a 16-thousand square foot addition to the exiting building and another 10 beds..We need to raise 5 million and you can see here today the enthusiasm of Sudbury to make that a reality" Said Gerry Lougheed Jr from the Sudbury Hospice Foundation.

Many of the teams and people taking part are doing this in support or in memory of a loved a one.
