Strong winds in the City of Greater Sudbury are causing momentary sporadic outages and affecting traffic lights.
Traffic signals have been damaged at the intersections of Falconbridge Road and Kingsway as well as Barrydowne Road and Gemmell Street
Officials at Greater Sudbury Utilities say a broken hydro pole is hanging in the air on Kelly Lake Road between Copper Street and Robinson.
Crews have been dispatched.
GSU says power will be shut off around 4:22 in a large part of the west end in Greater Sudbury.
Reports of an outage in Garson have come in around 4:30 pm.
GSU says power will be restored in sections.
Please ask people to avoid the area.
Update:
Sudbury Hydro says: "Power restored to all except Industrial area on Kelly Lake and Lorne to Webbwood area. Crews responding to pole broken on Mary Street in Gatchell. Power will remain out until the pole is secured or we can reroute power. May be out for a couple hours."
