Ontario Provincial Police say they have been dealing with several impaired driving cases in the last few days.

OPP say a 51-year-old man from Moose Deer Point First Nations was arrested for was allegedly driving while impaired by cannabis and having the drug readily available in his vehicle after stopping at a RIDE check on Parry Sound Road in Parry Sound shortly after 3 pm on Tuesday.

Police say this is the fifth impaired driver the West Parry Sound OPP has arrested since the start of 2019.

Meanwhile, North Bay OPP charged an alleged impaired driver on Monday at the weigh station scale in the city after receiving a tip.

OPP say the suspect, a 52-year-old man of Armstrong Township, was driving a vehicle hauling two commercial trailers.

The two men accused were issued 90-day licence suspensions and their vehicles were impounded for one week.

Both men are set to appear in court in February.
