There's some news that is being welcomed at the Ontario Northland plant in North Bay, a new government contract.
Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced Wednesday morning that Ontario Northland has been selected for a refurbishing contract for 15 Metrolinx rail cars.
The modernizing of the two-level passenger cars will provide work for over 200 employees over the next few years.
"Ontario Northland workers are experts when it comes to refurbishment, and it's exciting to see Metrolinx recognize the quality and value they provide day in, day out," says Vic Fedeli, Member of Provincial Parliament for Nipissing. "This provides support for Northern jobs and the Northern economy, which is why we have encouraged this project."
