SUDBURY -- Someone in Greater Sudbury tested positive for COVID-19, Public Health Sudbury & Districts reported Tuesday, marking the 210th case in the area since the pandemic began.

The latest case involves someone in Greater Sudbury. There are now 27 active cases in the area covered by Public Health, a drop of 16 compared to Monday.

The health unit has changed the way it reports new cases. Instead of announcing them in news release, Public Health is now updating cases twice a day on its website, from Monday to Friday, and once at 4 p.m. on weekends.

"The changes are being made to streamline our processes while at the same time ensure the public has timely access to important public health information," the health unit said.

"Public Health will also post a new weekly summary of any key developments, timely public health guidance, and relevant announcements. The weekly summary will be available online and shared proactively on social media and with local media every Thursday."
