Northwest Ont. woman charged with stunt driving
A 43-year-old woman has been charged with stunt driving following an incident on Highway 17 in Terrace Bay on Sunday.
Around 2:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police were monitoring drivers on the highway for speeding when they saw the suspect’s vehicle.
“Officers observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, approximately 100 kilometres an hour in a posted 60 kilometre an hour zone,” the OPP said in a news release Tuesday.
“Officers subsequently initiated a traffic stop.”
The woman, who is from Mine Centre, Ont., has been charged with stunt driving and not having her vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Schreiber at a later date.
