For the second time since October, there are layoffs at Ontario Northland in North Bay.
31 notices have been issued to workers at the remanufacturing and repair division.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer Corina Moore says the layoffs are a result of a reduction in manufacturing work, but is confident the shop will rebound in the coming months.
Moore says the company is pursuing opportunities for passenger, freight car, and locomotive repairs.
