And the Northern Ontario lottery winners keep coming.

The newest winner is Pauline Echum of Moose Factory, a retired mother of five and grandmother of eight.

She played OLG’s The Big Spin instant game, winning the chance to spin the big wheel in Toronto while her husband and family cheered her on.

She and her husband Bob, of 41 years, had quite the trek to get to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, taking a boat, train and car to get there.

The game has three ways to win and Pauline won one of the top prizes of $200,000.

As a member of Moose Cree First Nations, winning on Indigenous Peoples’ Day was very special to her.

“It’s a good day for us. Today is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day and it’s my granddaughter’s birthday. It’s pretty cool to celebrate so many special events together.” said Echum.

She also has some big plans for her windfall.

After paying off some bills, she plans on bringing her family on a vacation to Niagara Falls.  Her husband, Bob, has his eye on a toy.

“We’ll also be buying a boat, because we live on an island.” he laughed.

The winning ticket was purchased at GG’s Corner Store and Gift Shop on Veteran Street in Moose Factory.
