A total of 48.1 mm of rain fell in Kapuskasing on Thursday, breaking the record for May 12 that was set 78 years ago.

The previous record was 40.6 mm, set in 1944. The heavy rain led to flooding in some areas, including the golf course and walking trails.

Friday's weather is expected to be warm, with a high of 29 C, under sun and cloud. There's a 30 per cent chance of rain, with a risk of a thunderstorm.
