SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police say two people have been killed following a collision between a train and a pickup truck in a town south of North Bay.

They say it happened around 10 a.m. on Monday, October 14 in Machar Township, near South River.

Police say two people from the truck lost their lives in the crash on Machar-Strong Boundary Road.

The two deceased are 51-years-old Cecil Aho and 52-year-old Bernadette Laing, both of Strong Township.

The road was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated.

Canadian National (CN) Police Service, a private railroad police force, is assisting with the investigaiton.
