One person was sent to hospital after single vehicle collision closed a stretch of highway near Hearst for several hours on Wednesday.

Highway 11 between Highway 631 and Highway 663 was closed for about 11 hours due to a motor vehicle collision. It happened about 50 kilometres west of Hearst at around 11:15 a.m.

In a media release issued on Thursday afternoon, the Ontario Provincial Police said the collision involved a tractor-trailer and a male driver was taken to hospital via ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.  

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
