In OHL play last night, the North Bay Battalion extended their winning streak to six games last night as they rallied from a 3-0 deficit against their northern rivals, the Sudbury Wolves, and pulled off a 5-3 victory.

The Wolves built a commanding 3-0 lead after the first period, but the Battalion battled back with 5 unanswered goals for the win.

"Well they scored two power play goals and that's the difference in the hockey game.  We gave up way too many shots. Jake McGrath played extremely well and kept us in the game, but the difference was special teams, and they scored." said Wolves coach, Cory Stillman.

Riley Bruce is one of the Battalion players who helped rally his team.

"We came out a little slow in the first period and just came into the dressing room, re-grouped and talked about what we need to be doing better and came out in the second period and played a lot. better." said Bruce.

Since the departure of Cam Dineen, North Bay has been getting balanced offensive production from its defensive corps, including Swedish defenceman, Adam Thilander, who has 6 points in his last 5 games, one being the game winning goal on Thursday.

"It's my second year here. I am getting a little more comfortable and know the systems. I'm more used to the North American game and I think that's the biggest difference this year. It's given me more confidence out there." said Thilander.

The win extends North Bay's win streak to six in a row, a far cry from where the team started the season.

"It feels awesome. We had some tough bounces this year and played some tough games so it nice to finally get on the other side of the score for once.” said Bruce.

These two teams will meet again on Saturday in Sudbury.
