Jairus Patterson CTV Northern Ontario USE

Jairus Patterson is a former videojournalist with CTV News Northern Ontario in Sault Ste. Marie.

He is no longer with the company.

Jairus was born and raised in London, Ontario.

After high school, he participated in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and lived in Sweden for a year. For the next four years he attended Fanshawe College, where he graduated with a diploma from Broadcast Journalism and a certificate in Television News.

Before joining CTV News in the summer of 2012, Jairus worked at EastLink TV News in Timmins. He worked as sports anchor and reporter for two years before joining the news department as an anchor and reporter.

Jairus’ parents instilled the importance of volunteering in him at a young age. It is something he continues to do. He was instrumental in the creation of the Canadian Cancer Society Fundraiser 'Put Prostate Cancer on Ice' in Timmins.

During his spare time, Jairus enjoys reading, watching movies and his favourite TV shows. After living abroad for a year, Jairus caught the travel bug and went back to Sweden to cover the World Junior Hockey Championship in 2007.
