Mattawa man, 51, charged after police seize stolen property
A Mattawa, Ont., man has been charged after police found stolen items, including an off-road vehicle and trailer, on his property.
Officers from the North Bay detachment of the community street crime unit started investigating Oct. 2, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Thursday.
The investigation stemmed from "an occurrence involving several stolen items located on a property associated to the accused."
During a search of a property on Highway 533 in Mattawan Township, police found and seized a 2012 Tracer ultralight travel trailer, a 2021 Can-Am UTV, two generators, a compound bow and a crossbow.
The items recovered had previously been reported stolen, OPP Const. Neal Turner told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.

As a result, the 51-year-old male suspect was charged with four counts of possessing property obtained by crime, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, cocaine possession, and failing to comply with a release and probation order.
The accused was remanded following a bail court appearance in North Bay on Oct. 2.
