Many North Bay families went sliding for a good cause in Trout Creek on Saturday
It was a day full of fun and fundraising at Slide for the Cure in Trout Creek.
The Kmith family is behind the Ottawa Ronald McDonald House (RMH) fundraiser after nine-year-old Jillian spent a year there battling cancer.
"It's a good day, it's good that the Ronald McDonald House will get all the money that they need," said Jillian.
"It means a lot because if I lived just in the hospital it would be hard."
The fundraising goal for the event was $10,000 and the family said they achieved it.
"We weren't sure how big the event would get when we first started out, but it's grown,” said Jeff Kmith, Jillian's dad.
“Talking to everyone around here I'm pretty sure we surpassed our goal, so we're really happy about that."

A happy and healthy Jillian told CTV News that this event helps keeps her spirits high.
"I'm having lots of fun and there's so many people here."
