Power restored to most areas of Greater Sudbury

Update #3:
Most power outages in the Greater Sudbury area are now restored.
Crews from both Hydro One and Greater Sudbury Hydro (GSH) continue to work on the outages caused by Saturday night’s wind storm.
As of 4:15 p.m. on Sunday power has been restored to most areas of Greater Sudbury. (Supplied)The outages that were affecting Hydro One customers in areas Onaping Falls, Valley East, Markstay-Warren and the shores of Wanapitei Lake should be resolved shortly, according to the company’s outage map.
The 300 residents without power in St. Charles will have to wait a little longer as the ETA for power to be restored there is 5 p.m. Sunday.
The Hydro One map, as of 4:15 p.m., said the company expects to restore power to all of Whitefish by 11 p.m.

Update #2:
More power has been restored by Hydro One in Greater Sudbury area.
The outage that was affecting Onaping Falls has been mostly resolved, with only small pockets of customers now affected.
As of 1:30 a.m. on Sunday power has been restored to even more areas of Greater Sudbury. (Supplied)According to the Hydro One outage map there is still no update to the outages reported on the shores of Wanapitei Lake as of 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
"With strong winds causing a number of power issues in our region, Greater Sudbury Hydro (GSH) crews are assisting Hydro One today ... to restore power as soon as possible," said Claude Sharma with Greater Sudbury Utilities in an email to CTV News.
"GSH is happy to help a neighbouring distribution company."
With the exception of one outage west of Walden affecting less than 60 residents and some isolated customers, all outages in the area of Lively now appear to be resolved.
The outage in St. Charles, affecting more than 300 residents, still has no estimate to be resolved at this time.

Update #1:
Hydro One has restored power to most customers in Greater Sudbury.
As of 11:45 a.m. on Sunday power has been restored to many areas of Greater Sudbury. (Supplied)There are about 100 customers in the community of Walden who are still without power as of 11:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the Hydro One outage map, with no estimate for restoration at this time.
No update on the outage shores of Wanapitei Lake at this time.
The largest outage is now in the area of Onaping Falls, which is still affecting approximately 500 customers and the cause is still under investigation.
There are isolated outages in Valley East affecting small pockets of customers. Hydro One told CTV News by phone that these outages should be resolved Sunday afternoon.
Additionally, there are more than 300 residents of St. Charles without power and no ETA for its restoration.

Hydro One crews continue to work to restore power in Greater Sudbury following a powerful storm that blew into the region Saturday night.
Several communities are still without power Sunday morning after a strong storm along with high winds.
The outage is affecting several pockets of Greater Sudbury.

More than 100 residents in the area of Valley East are also without power.
The largest outages in the area is affecting more than 700 residents in Lively and the surrounding communities of Walden and Whitefish.
Another significant outage is in Larchwood near Onaping Falls, where about 500 are without power.
To the west of Sudbury in the areas of Markstay-Warren, more than 400 are without power as of 10 a.m. Sunday.
Other areas of the city had power outages throughout the night which were restored early this morning.
Hydro One crews are investigating the causes of the outages and working to assess the damage but have no estimates at this time for when power will be restored.
