Manitoulin Island Entrepreneur creates subscription Box

The idea for the Good Stuff box was the brain-child of its founder’s mother. For Christmas one year, Manitoulin Island resident Vanessa Glasby received a US based subscription box. After gifting her daughter the box,  Vanessa’s mom saw no reason why her daughter couldn’t create her own ethical and Canadian version.

In 2018, the Good Stuff box was created,  and since then Glasby has never looked back. The quarterly box features products from innovative companies working in Canada, and is specially designed to do good in the world, giving back to the global community. All of the companies that are part of the box have a charity partner and/or a cause-focused mission, and are working hard to have a positive impact on major social or environmental concerns.

Each box costs $54.95 a carton. Customers also have the option to order a full year subscription of four boxes for 199.95.

Recently the company became a Canadian Subscription Box Award winner. Good Stuff Box was nominated for and named the Best Eco-Friendly Box in Canada for 2019!

Later today CTV’s Lyndsay Aelick will speak with Glasby to find out more about where the boxes are put together, and what the response has been from customers. Watch for that story tonight at 5, 6 and 11:30 on air as well as online.
