SAULT STE. MARIE -- One man is facing drug trafficking charges after Sault Ste, Marie police were called to a hotel, where a man had jumped out of a window.

Police were called to Quattro Hotel just after 3 p.m. Thursday, after reports of an injured man in the parking lot.

"Upon arrival, EMS were treating the man and later transported him to hospital with non-life threatening injuries," said Lincoln Louttit, spokesperson for the Sault Police Service.

Asked if the man was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics when he jumped, Louttit declined to comment.

"We can't speak to his condition at the time of this incident," he said.

The investigation led officers to believe a suspect broke a second-storey window, causing $7,000 in damage, and jumped out. Police say a duffle bag containing 62.2 grams of cocaine and 1,552 Xanax pills was also discovered, with a street value of more than $14,000.

Sault Police have charged a 28-year-old Mississauga man with two drug trafficking charges and mischief over $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 10.
