Maley Drive on-ramp at Lasalle Boulevard reopens in Sudbury

Share

The onramp from Lasalle Boulevard to the Maley Extension has reopened, Sudbury police said early Wednesday evening.

"The investigation into the collision is ongoing," police said on social media. "Thank you for your patience while officers were on scene."

The westbound lanes of the road closed at Lorraine Street around 8 a.m. The roadway was closed for most of the day as police investigated the crash.

A white vehicle was lying on its driver's side in the ditch between the road and rock-cut about halfway through the circular on-ramp that leads to Maley Drive West.

Police said the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and they were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. There is no word on if any charges are pending.

"The posted speed limit is 50. The suggested ramp speed limit is 30," police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
