Sudbury driver caught speeding on Hwy. 69, police say

A Sudbury driver was travelling more than 150 km/h on Highway 69 near Greater Sudbury last week, police say.

On Sept. 4, members of the Nipissing West Ontario Provincial Police detachment charged a 45-year-old driver from Sudbury with stunt driving on Highway 69 south of the city.

"The driver was travelling 154km/h in a posted 110km/h zone," said police in a social media post.

In addition to the stunt driving charge, the accused received 30-day driver’s licence suspensions and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.

The driver will be scheduled to appear in traffic court at a later date.

“Slow down (and) drive safe,” said the OPP.
