SUDBURY -- The show must go on at the Capitol Centre but the crowds will have to wait.

Officials at North Bay’s Capitol Centre are slowly returning to their offices; however, there will not be any live performances yet in the historic building.

"The biggest challenge right now is public gatherings indoors not to exceed 50 people," said Katina Connolly, executive director of the Capitol Centre. "That doesn’t allow us to put on any show in a financially responsible manner."

She adds, despite the pandemic, the Capitol Centre is still able to offer audiences performances on its Facebook page

"We are waiting for the gathering size to grow a little bit before we can have people back in the building," said Connolly.

Until then, she said the curtains will remain closed and the lights dimmed at the 90-year-old building.
