SUDBURY -- The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a missing man in the early morning of hours of Aug. 6, where officers from the James Bay detachment began search efforts.

In an Aug. 15 news release, police confirmed there is a large scale search underway with officers from the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and approximately 50 civilian searchers.  The search area is located at Highway 652 and Murphy road about 15 km east of Cochrane.

Ryan Beaudoin of Cochrane, 28, was last seen on Aug. 4 at around 10:00 p.m. Police say they are concerned for Beaudoin’s safety and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating him.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 5’10” tall, 180 Ibs with an athletic build, short brown hair and brown eyes.

He has the following tattoos:

  •             Upper front torso: Hasta La Victoria Siempee 705
  •             Right forearm to wrist (sleeve): feathers, devil, flames and $ (sign)
  •             Upper back: guns with skull
  •             Right shoulder: Canadian flag with hockey stick
