Impaired driving charge laid after vehicle crashes into a swamp off of Hwy. 17

No injuries were reported early Thursday morning when a vehicle landed in a swamp off Highway 17 in West Nipissing.

Ontario Provincial Police were called at 2 a.m. to respond to the collision, which took place in a swampy area off the roadway.

A 66-year-old driver from St. Charles has been charged with impaired driving and has a July 4 court date in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
