On Dec. 27 at about 7 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police's (OPP) Kirkland Lake detachment, Timiskaming District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Kirkland Lake Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision involving five vehicles on Highway 11 north of Highway 112.

"Highway 11 is currently closed between Highway 112 and Highway 66," police said in a news release on Friday.

"A detour has been established to redirect traffic. The highway will remain closed for a period of time as the investigation continues."

No injuries have yet been reported, police told CTV News Friday morning.

According to the Ministry of Transportation's 511 Traveller Information Service, the roadway reopened at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
