SUDBURY -- A 30-year-old man with no fixed address was arrested June 10 after a complaint about someone stealing liquor from the Liquor Control Board of Ontario in West Nipissing.

The Nipissing West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received the call around 8 p.m. and arrived at the LCBO on Front Street.

"After reviewing the video surveillance footage, investigation revealed the culprit had stolen several bottles of liquor," police said in a news release Friday.

"Shortly thereafter, officers located the accused under the Highway 17 bridge and he was arrested. Officers recovered and seized the stolen property."

The homeless man was charged with shoplifting under $5,000, obstructing a peace office and violating probation.

He remains in custody ahead of a bail hearing June 18 in North Bay.
