A pedestrian is dead following a collision with a commercial motor vehicle on Highway 17 west of Thunder Bay on Thursday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police and other emergency responders were called at 10:14 a.m. to the crash site five kilometres west of English River.

Highway 17 was closed between Highway 599 and Shabaqua Corners until about 6 p.m.

"At this time, one person has been pronounced deceased," OPP said.
