Highway 144 reopened between Cartier and Gogama after fatal crash

Highway 144 is reopened north of Sudbury after a two-vehicle collision between a commercial and passenger vehicle happened around 1 p.m. Tuesday, police say.

"One person was pronounced deceased at the scene," Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.

More than 100 kilometres of highway was closed between Cartier and the Watershed, south of Gogama, until after midnight.

The traffic incident management enforcement team is helping in the investigation.

No word on what caused the crash.
