The collision happened before 6 p.m. between Gordon Lake Road and New Cobden Road, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said in a tweet.

"Road closed following collision. Emergency services attending," OPP said.

Greater Sudbury Fire Services along with Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services attended the scene.

In a phone interview with CTV News Northern Ontario anchor Brendan Connor Saturday evening, police officials confirmed two vehicles were involved in the crash.

A detour was available via New Cobden, Simmons and Gordon Lake Roads.

The highway fully reopened just after 2:30 a.m., OPP said in a subsequent tweet.

No details on the cause of the collision, if any charges are pending or the extent of any injuries have been released by police.

CTV News has reached out to the OPP for further comment, but those calls have not yet been returned.
