SUDBURY -- Plans to put on drive-in movies in Greater Sudbury this weekend have melted thanks to the scorching temperatures in the region.

Horizon Drive In has announced the showings will be rescheduled.

"Due to the extreme heat warnings and talks with city and public health officials, we have postponed this weekend's shows," the company said on its Facebook page. "All tickets will be valid for the July 18-19 weekend. The movie schedule will remain the same."

Movies slated for the new drive-in dates are (July 18) Grease, starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, and Central Intelligence, starring The Rock and Kevin Hart, and (July 19) Grease and The Conjuring, starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson.

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but we must make safety our top priority," Horizon said in announcing the changes. "We look forward to seeing you in a few weeks!"
