Community members in Elliot Lake came together to show what Christmas spirit is all about.

The first annual Harvest Kitchen Christmas Lunch took place Friday, serving 115 in person meals as well as delivering 35 meals to seniors.

The lunch was put together by volunteers with the support of the food security program.

It wasn’t just a delicious warm meal, attendees were also treated to performances by the Elliot Lake Young Voices Choir and the Our Lady of Fatima School Choir.Elliot Lake Young Voices Choir along with the Our Lady of Fatima School Choir performed at the luncheon. (Supplied)The Harvest Kitchen program has been developed in collaboration between Maplegate House for Women, the Elliot Lake Emergency Foodbank and the Elliot Lake Royal Canadian Legion. The program started on Oct. 31 and will continue to run until April 2023.

Lunches will start again after the holidays on Jan. 4.
