GTA man charged in major drug bust in northwestern Ontario
A 22-year-old man from the Greater Toronto Area is facing drug trafficking charges after police in northwestern Ontario seized $700,000 in drugs during raid.
Officers searched a home on Eleventh Avenue North in Kenora around 5 p.m. May 10, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release.
"The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of illicit substances suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine. The estimated street value of illicit substances seized is approximately $700,000," OPP said.
"Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized."
The Etobicoke man is charged with three counts of drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime worth more than $5,000.
He is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Kenora at a later date.

"Any person with information regarding the illegal possession and trafficking of drugs should immediately contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122," police said.
"Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)."
The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Kenora detachment, organized crime enforcement bureau, Kenora and Dryden community street crime units, the provincial operations intelligence bureau and Treaty Three Police Service.
