SUDBURY -- Greater Sudbury is beginning the next phase of restarting programming at city fitness centres and pools, which opened in September.

"In line with COVID-19 safety guidelines outlined by the Lifesaving Society of Ontario, swimming lessons will be shorter and group sizes will be smaller," the city said in a news release Wednesday.

The next phase of lessons begins Nov. 2, and includes group lessons for Swimmer 4 levels and up, as well as advanced swimming lessons.

Private and semi-private options for these age groups are also available. Residents can book recreational swim times or register for selected swim programs by clicking here

"All other swim levels will begin in January 2021 to allow for a gradual, safe return to full swim programming schedules," the city said. "In addition to the lessons listed above, family swim sessions were introduced on Oct. 12, and public swims and Feel Free to Feel Fit sessions will begin on Nov. 23 at all municipal pools."

Some fitness programs are also open for registration. To register, click here, call the facility or 311.
